Laird Hamilton

Laird Hamilton

After his father left little Laird before his first birthday, the young Hawaii boy met legendary 1960s big-wave rider Bill Hamilton. After meeting and later marrying Laird's mother, Bill adopted Laird, who was raised in one of Earth's greatest surfing playgrounds - Oahu, Hawaii. Now 42, Laird is a large man (6'3", 225 pounds) who fearlessly tackles the world's biggest and most dangerous waves, some as high as 70 feet, moving as fast as 50 mph.
